CASE STUDY
STEM building, University of Bedfordshire, Luton
Project description: The University of Bedfordshire invested £40 million in their new STEM building at its Central Luton campus.
STEM subjects as well as Pharmaceutical and Chemical Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, and Mechanical Engineering are also taught there.
Project features and challenges: Project was carried out on a ‘Live’ University Campus in Luton Town Centre. From a BTS design perspective due to the architect specification being predominately regency gold anodised . This requires a special grade of aluminium whereby BTS had to leave welds as laid. Consequently, BTS had to consider different methods of fabrication to resolve with stunning results.
Vantage®️ SF Hook on rainscreen was supplied in both regency gold and powder coated Silver RAL 9006. The pinnacle of our supply was the bespoke curved anodised rooflight in Silver RAL 9006.
