North East-based BTS Facades and Fabrications has made several headlines this year, from the company achieving a carbon neutral status, to embracing the four-day working week and for being one of the first in its industry to secure Environmental Product Declarations.
While the team has much to be proud of, managing director Philip Atkinson says he wants to “keep pushing forwards” and achieving milestones.
Within the next 12 months, the firm is striving to gain a B-Corp certification, an accreditation which verifies a company’s commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
As part of this commitment, the directors at BTS are looking towards obtaining an employee benefit trust (EBT), which allows the workforce to have shares within the company.
With these ongoing improvements and investments into the business and team, the business is looking towards generating £15m worth of sales by 2025.
Phil said: “I don’t want BTS to stand still, I want to keep growing, expanding, and achieving.
“It’s an incredibly tough market at the moment; plenty of businesses are struggling, and we’ve known a few to go under – it’s heartbreaking.
“But it’s not a time to sit back and do nothing, there are so many things I would like BTS to achieve in the next 12 months, which should help our business stand out from the crowd.
“We have achieved incredible amounts in the past year, but it can’t stop there, we must keep listening to what our clients and architects want, and adapting our business so we can offer the best.
“I want BTS to be the leading supplier in rainscreen and fabricated products across the country, and to get to this point, we’ll be continuing to invest in our team, in the environment and most importantly, ensuring our customers are happy.”
To support BTS’ ambitions, the team are invited to the Façade Awards in Manchester, where Philip is up for an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award for his commitment to making changes for the benefit of his team and the planet, and ‘Best Refurbishment Project’ too.
