X-Press – how it works

While Rainscreen Facades and Fabrications are at the forefront of what we do at BTS, we’ll never forget about the bread-and-butter flashings, which helped us get to where we are today.

Since we’re getting busier, lead-times are getting longer, meaning our customers were having to wait an unnecessary period to get their simple flashings.

But no more! We recently introduced our newest endeavor, X-Press, bringing standard pre coated, mill finish aluminum and galvanised flashings to our customers within an estimated three working days – great, right?

The project works as a separate cell within our existing factory, fast-tracking all simple flashing products thanks to our quick supply chain, dedicated workforce, and Salvagnini Punch, which can work unattended overnight.

Get your orders in

We have a dedicated email address which you can contact to enquire or place an order. So, get your order in here: enquiries@bts-xpress.co.uk.

Alternatively, if you’d like more information about your order and how our new system works, you can give Chris Atkinson a bell on 01388 816883 (he’s going to be your go-to guy for anything X-Press-related).

Once your order is placed, it’ll go directly to our sales team. Ben and Nathan, our estimators who’ll oversee any fast-track orders, will price up the job and assess the materials needed, and aim to ensure our three-day lead time is met.

Secure the materials

Our estimators will then check our stock. While we usually try to keep a reserve of materials at hand for orders, sometimes we’ll need to buy it in specially.

Thankfully, our managing director, Phil, has built up a directory of reliable contacts after decades in the industry, meaning we can almost guarantee we can receive materials from our supply chain the next day.

It’s time to process

Next up, the order is processed by Kevin, our order processer, who then hands the information over to the team, who’ll make the magic happen.

Get to the good part

Enough of the boring stuff! It’s now time to make the standard flashings. Chris will distribute the cutting list to the dedicated X-Press team on the shop floor, and also decide the best route for the order.

Smaller, one-off orders will be sheared by hand using our new SAFAN space-efficient guillotine, then onto one of our two AMADA presses to be bent into shape.

Or, if the order is larger, the dimensions will be added into our state-of-the-art Salvagnini punch, which can cut the flashings overnight, meaning they’ll be ready to be bent by the team the following morning.

Special delivery

Then, you guessed it, it’s time to ship your order! We’ll either do this using our fleet of vans, or we’ll use one of our trusted transport agencies to deliver your goods.
