WE WANT BTS TO BE A PLACE THAT PEOPLE WANT TO COME TO WORK
Our workforce is at the heart of our manufacturing firm; our 50 employees are paramount when making business sections – it is essential that our team are on board with BTS’ vision.
With this in mind, we operate in line with the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) framework, which helps our leadership team educate and work alongside our stakeholders, ultimately putting them first.
THE CHANGES WE’VE MADE:
Introduction of LEAN management
Monthly BTS forum
Investment in training
Annual surveys
WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED
FOUR-DAY WORKING WEEK
The BTS forum is a committee comprised of oneelected team member from different
departments.
They each meet monthly to discuss concerns and ideas and present them to our directors.
As a result of this, our four-day week was introduced to support the team’s desire for an improved work-life balance.
ENGAGED WORKFORCE
Our team meets up on a weekly basis, where health and safety, the environment, targets, and financial performance are discussed; additionally, photography of our products being installed is showcased to our workforce, as a demonstration of everything they have created – an engaged workforce is a happy workforce.
Annually, the whole team comes together for an engagement day, where the entire team are brought up-to-speed with how performance, objectives, and future plans.
PROFIT-RELATED PAY
When the business is performing well, we want our employees to feel the benefit, too – that’s why we introduced our profit and performance-related pay scheme. To facilitate this, we introduced KPIs using Hoshin Kanri, a strategic planning process where goals are communicated and implemented
with the wider team.
Health and safety, sustainability, product testing, quality and financial targets have been set, and each employee could earn an extra £2,200.
