At BTS, we take pride in leading the way in manufacturing safe, accredited, and innovative rainscreen systems. To ensure our products meet the highest standards, we need a dependable expert to oversee every detail.
Thankfully, Nick Murray is stepping into the role of technical, design & systems director. He joined the team in April and has already made a significant impact in his first eight months with us.
Since he’ll be stepping up, and you’ll probably be seeing his face more often, we thought we’d formally introduce you to him all.
A wealth of experience
Nick brings with him a remarkable 20 years of experience in Design, Development, and Improvement within the manufacturing and construction sectors. His deep understanding of these industries makes him exceptionally well-equipped to lead our technical and systems strategies.
Excited about the journey ahead
When asked what he’s most looking forward to in his role, Nick said: “I love seeing how small, regular improvements can make a big difference – it is something I look forward to.”
This passion for continuous improvement aligns perfectly with BTS’ mission to enhance our processes, machinery, and people.
Immediate priorities
In the coming months, Nick will be focusing on:
- Configuring and rolling out a new ERP system, a transformative initiative that will touch every part of our business and pave the way for greater operational efficiency and growth.
- Managing the daily challenges of design and keeping pace with ever-changing regulations.
Nick sees this project as a game-changer, saying: “The ERP project will completely change how we operate as a business. It will affect every person and every process, but ultimately it will improve our effectiveness and future growth.”
A key role to success
Nick’s role as Technical, Design & Systems Director is critical. As he puts it:
“Anything to do with specification or design forms the foundation for every subsequent process or decision. If you don’t get it right at the beginning, everything after becomes more difficult, and usually more costly.”
Looking to the future
Nick is optimistic about what’s ahead for BTS. Over the next year, he envisions that new equipment, and processes will allow us to increase both our customer base and service level.
A bit about Nick
Nick’s career began with an interest in technology and construction. While studying at university, he joined the construction industry because of his CAD skills – a decision that has shaped his professional journey ever since.
Reflecting on his time at BTS so far, Nick shared:
“The first eight months have flown by. The business is constantly trying to improve its processes, machinery, and its people. I don’t think I’ll be getting bored any time soon.”
Join us in welcoming Nick
We are excited to see the positive changes and innovations Nick will bring to BTS in this new role.
So, if you see him in an email chain, at a meeting, or perhaps if you’re stopping by our offices, be sure to give him a warm welcome.
