Alfreton Road, Nottingham

Project description: The project comprises a large-scale development delivering 790 purpose-built student accommodation units. It also includes a range of on-site amenities such as a café and co-working space, study and leisure facilities, fitness areas, and landscaped outdoor space to support a high-quality residential and student living environment.

Project features and challenges: BTS worked closely with Metclad Contracts to come up with a Vantage®️ IP Panel with Bespoke angle to offer a competitive alternative to traditional metals, without compromising on visual appearance. Aluminium also offers greater manufacturing flexibility and competitive leadtimes. The PPC aluminium panels were finished in Tiger Drylac RAL 7003 Moss Grey (029/7B295) Fine texture. The aluminium panels are consistently aligned, have concealed fixings, and a durable finish suited to a high‑traffic building environment. The bespoke angle riveted into the panel returns gives a similar look to standing seam cladding. This project demonstrates the value of early technical engagement, detailed façade coordination, and a close working relationship between BTS and Metclad Contracts to achieve both design intent and site efficiency.
