Working closely with Metclad and Architects Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson on this project, BTS Fabrications provided samples and technical assistance for this refurbishment of a student accommodation block, Nelson & Drake House, for the University of Bristol. Using our state of the art 3d design software, we were able to offer a number of options for the precise positioning of the panels and windows for maximum visual impact. The perforated fin detail incorporated a unique connection detail which tied it into the extruded carrier rail for the Vantage® SF system.The Architect’s clever use of two-panel colours achieves the required final effect, making a striking feature of the windows. The final eye-catching effect was achieved by introducing perforated fin details between each tier of panels.Finally, the whole concept is completed and complemented by using special blue flashings to surround the elevation top and side. This house spotlights at the top which spectacularly brings the entire building to life at night.
